Seeds 13 Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Early, TX, is excited to continue its commitment to fostering a strong, healthy community. "We are honored to be part of such a special initiative that highlights local businesses and contributes to the strength of our community," the owners shared. They look forward to sharing their journey, mission, and the impact they've made since opening their doors in 2021.
A Family-Driven Journey in Martial Arts
Seeds 13 Jiu-Jitsu Academy was founded by Roniel Costa and his wife, Victoria, both black belts in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with over 20 years of experience. "Our journey began in 2021, shortly after the pandemic," explained Roniel. "We were looking to continue practicing martial arts and realized there was a need for a training space in the Early area." Their Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in Texas started in 2017 with their first academy in San Angelo. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, they expanded, opening a location in Early and later in Abilene.
Serving the Community with Specialized Training
Roniel and Victoria were inspired to open their academy in Early due to its close-knit community. "We were drawn to Early because of its strong sense of community and the opportunity to serve a small town where such services were in demand," they noted. The academy specializes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, striking, and self-defense, offering classes for all ages and skill levels.
"Our focus is on promoting a healthy lifestyle through physical fitness, mental resilience, and self-defense," they added. The academy provides a supportive environment where residents can thrive, improve their physical health, and develop essential life skills like discipline and confidence.
Making a Positive Impact Locally
Seeds 13 Jiu-Jitsu Academy aims to be more than just a martial arts training center. "Our academy is deeply invested in the well-being of the Early community," the owners emphasized. Through martial arts training, they offer a place for residents to gather, connect, and build resilience together. "For small communities like Early, offering these activities strengthens both individuals and the community as a whole," they explained.
Supporting Local Heroes
In alignment with their community-focused mission, the academy offers several special promotions. "For Small Business Saturday, we are offering a 20% discount on membership fees for active military personnel and a 50% discount for veterans," they announced. They also have free training programs for law enforcement officers, firefighters, and paramedics, helping them train until they reach a blue belt, typically in about a year.
In addition, the academy provides free self-defense classes for women and Jiu-Jitsu homeschool programs for children. "We offer classes for kids starting as young as 3 years old, and adults aged 13 and up," they shared. This inclusive approach ensures that everyone, regardless of age or experience, has access to quality martial arts training.
A Vision for Growth and Community Engagement
Looking ahead, Seeds 13 Jiu-Jitsu Academy has big plans for expansion. "In the coming year, we aim to expand our facility to accommodate the growing interest in martial arts within the community," the owners explained. They hope to offer more classes and create additional job opportunities in Early, further contributing to the local economy.
"Our goal is to continue fostering an environment where individuals can improve their physical and mental well-being through martial arts," they added. As their business grows, they also hope to see more job opportunities created within Early, supporting the town's development and fostering a culture of fitness.
Giving Back and Strengthening the Community
Seeds 13 Jiu-Jitsu Academy stands out for its commitment to supporting local heroes, offering discounted memberships to military personnel, veterans, and free training for law enforcement officers. "We are passionate about giving back to those who serve and protect our communities," they shared. This dedication reflects their mission to build a stronger, safer community for all.
The owners invite everyone to learn more about their academy and take advantage of their holiday promotions. "The holiday season is a great time to start your martial arts journey," they said. "Whether you’re looking to get fit, learn self-defense, or just try something new, we look forward to meeting more members of the Early community."
