Stage 2 Drought Conditions Issued

Stage 2 Watering Schedule

As of Wednesday morning, the Brown County Water Improvement District has issued Stage 2 Drought Contingency Conditions. This means that the Brownwood lake has dropped below 8' of the spillway. The lake is reported to be at 65.8% capacity.

This stage 2 status triggers mandatory watering schedules to aid in the conservation of water across the city. Details of this watering schedule are as follows:

  • Odd Addresses - Watering is permitted Mondays and Thursdays
  • Even Addresses - Watering is permitted Tuesdays and Fridays
  • NO ONE is permitted to water between 9AM and 7PM.

This watering schedule applies to residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional accounts.

Together, we can conserve water as we wait for rain.
