Town Center - YMCA Project
City Council Meeting (09/12/23)
During the Administrator's Report, Tony Aaron updated the council on the progress with the YMCA of Early and Brown County. Below is the presentation provided by SSARCO, one of the architectural firms working on the project. In the presentation, they provided some inspirational pictures and potential layouts for the designated area in the Town Center. Similar facilities' floor plans are shown, to give an example of what is possible with the size and needs of our community. There are lots of different options for layouts to satisfy the Needs Assessment Survey. Some have a floating track, E-gaming, an indoor pool, and even a convertible gym for various different sports. The possibilities are vast. You can see all of the layouts in the slides below.
If you would like to fill out the Needs Assessment Survey, you can do so here.
YMCA Needs Assessment (06/13/23)
This survey's purpose is to evaluate the needs and interests in our community, centered around the idea of establishing a YMCA.
City Council Meeting (06/13/23)
During the City Council meeting Tony Aaron, City Administrator, introduced the plan to assess the need and interest in building a YMCA in Early's new Town Center. The idea came from the YMCA of Abilene reaching out about establishing a new location to enrich the Town Center. Early's executive team also visited the YMCAs in Cedar Park, Hutto, and Round Rock for inspiration. Each facility is unique based off each community's needs and wants. Many facilities partner with local school districts and medical centers to offer even more benefits to the communities they serve. The YMCA Needs Assessment survey will help the city determine what features would be best suited to both Early and Brown County as a whole. Everyone in Early and the surrounding county are encouraged to submit their responses. The City of Early looks forward to fulfilling the needs of the community in such a fun way!
Below are photos from each of the YMCA visits. These are inspiration for Early's potential facility.
